After Garachico, we stopped in La Orotava before reaching the Teide. A lovely town surrounded by a green valley which caused Alexander von Humbold to fall on his knees with admiration when he discovered its beauty. There is a place called Mirador de Humbold which reminds you of this event.
La Orotava?s main characteristic is the wooden balconies worked and carved so well, in a way that is typical to the Canary Islands.
Stroll in Calle San Francisco to see the most interesting houses of this type, one of them dating from 1590?
At the tourist information, you?ll find an itinerary guiding you to the different houses.

Directions: 3 km from Puerto de La Cruz
