Gran Teatro: "Tosca Amore Disperato" Rome Nightlife Tip by sniem

If your in Rome while they are playing "Tosca Amore Disperato" go! go! go!
It's a new and modern production of Tosca by the Italian singer and songwriter Lucio Dalla. I went there in November 2004 and it was just marvelous.
They are playing it in the Gran Teatro which is outside the center close to the Olympic Stadium. It's quite difficult to get there with public transport so I recommend taking a cab, after a 1hr odysee with the bus we took one from Piazza del Popolo for about 12 Euro.
Very important!! ask the taxi driver either for a phone number to call a cab or even ask him to pick you up again after the show. The Gran Teatro is in the middle of nowhere and its almost impossible to grab a taxi out there (took us half an hour)

I bought the tickets online through ticket one, which worked very fine. They had a special ticket counter for online tickets I just had to show my credit card and got the tickets

Dress Code: People aren't dressed up as much as they do when going to the opera house but where still dressed very good. Didn't see any jeans or sneakers
