My wife and I lived in Istan at Calle Rio 37 (37 River Street) for two years 2003-2005. We were the only English couple living in the village at that time and the locals made us very welcome. If you visit and want a good meal try "Entre Sierras" or "Bar Barron". Speak to the locals and you will be offered a warm welcome.

We are thinking of renting a villa near Istan for a week. From there we will travel to various places and golf....what are the roads to Istan like to drive? On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being ' treacherous', how would you rate them?
