Yes indeed, the big cheese, the place where many people believe French cheese making began. Pont l'Eveque cheese has been regulated since 1972. The area is a demarcation zone and only cheeses made within that zone in the prescribed manner can lay claim to the name Pont l'Eveque.
The town itself is pleasant if somewhat unremarkable but if it's cheese you want look no further.

    Stopped off here last October as well. Paid more heed to the cider + Calvados than the cheese...
