The Smallest Big City in the World

I Used to Live Here

Cable Car in San Francisco
I moved to San Francisco as a young person out on my own for the first time when I was 21 years old. I couldn't have picked a better place for an introduction to city life! I mean, gee ~ I got to ride a Cable Car to work . . .

One of the more wonderful things about San Francisco is that you can walk everywhere! It's only 49 square miles and, if you're in good enough shape to handle the hills, walking is the way to go! Back then I did it in high heels ~ now I put on my tennies! :-)

Now I Visit Frequently

My DH and I both just LOVE San Francisco, so any excuse to go works JUST fine! We have season tickets to the 49er games ~ could probably stay over cheaper if we stayed further down the peninsula, but we like the excuse to stay in The City.

If Hubby has a business meeting in or near San Francisco, I grab my laptop and tag along.

Is there a play we've been wanting to see? Oh ~ it's running in San Francisco. Let's go!!

Chico's running triple digit temperatures this summer ~ let's cool off in The City.

I think you've got the idea. :-)

One More Excuse to Visit

Whenever we have out-of-town guests, they usually want to see San Francisco and we're delighted to show them around! We absolutely NEVER get tired of it!

Here we have Ian & Lynda visiting ~ they're from Tasmania, and we met them when we were in Australia. Last year they took a trip around the world ~ we had a GREAT time showing them around Chico, the Wine Country, Sausalito, and, of course, San Francisco!!

And in a couple of weeks ~ Ian & Lynda's daughter, Anna, and her boyfriend are arriving in San Francisco where we will meet them and show THEM the sights as well!

Pros:"Everything's fairly close and easy to get to; great restaurants; fun things to do"
Cons:"Sometimes cold in the summer (not really a "con" for us)"
In A Nutshell:"49 Square Miles of Big City Life with a Small Town Atmosphere"
