Chirpan is a small town in south central Bulgaria. It is situated 40 km far from Stara Zagora and 50 far from Plovdiv.It has around 17 000 inhabitants. It has his famous people born there, its history and geographical position.In the past it has used to be well developed with crafts and agronomy. Unfortunately now it is not good economically.
One of the worst earthquakes in Bulgaria happened here in 1928 with magnitude 6.8 and it destroyed a big part of the town.
Chirpan’s celebration day is 6-th of September (same as Plovdiv’s one) symbolizing the Union of Bulgaria in 1885.
