Cafe` de Ponteneur: For pub lovers

I really love this place. Night and day it is always so alive and makes you feel home.
Many times and on special occasion there is also some live music, a few nights ago for example three tables where put aside to let a jazz band play. In the meanwhile people eating drinking chatting and playing games all over the place. No feeling of too much crowded or two much noise, the Ponteneur has a special charachter of its own.
They have some good beers and a good menu (you can see the open kitchen from the tables)

Dress Code: Blue-jeans or a smart suit it doesn`t matter. Just enjoy the place!

Live Music: `Melkweg` Melkweg Review

It is Amsterdam's biggest multi-functional entertainment venue.
The Melkweg, (Milky way) is not only very central, it also offers music, drama, movies, a weekend disco, a bar and a restaurant. Although this converted brewery looks huge, inside there are three smaller stages so avid fans can get close to their favourite band. The Melkweg is the main venue for The Amsterdam Roots Festival, an annual world music event in mid-June, with acts from Senegal, Sudan and elsewhere performing until the early hours of the morning. The annual music and writing festival, Crossing Borders is also held here, (one amongst five other local venues involved), and it's worth coming to Amsterdam for this every November.s

Live Music: `Paradiso` Paradiso Review

Paradiso, is a converted church now used to host major bands and live multi-media events.
Mainly known as a venue for live music, at the weekend it hosts club nights with local and international DJ's and occasional live acts. Friday night is VIP club night (Vrijdag in Paradiso) from midnight onwards. Check out their listings on the website.

Kriterion: Movie and drink Cinema's Review

It`s a nice place where you can have a drink at the pub and take your drink watching movies. Usually movies are not the most commercial ones, you might find mostly foreign movies, documentaries, theme movies or the sneak preview ( you dont know whats the film is about or its title until the very last moment)

Desmet: Live Radioshow Live Music Review

Every Tuesday night (10-11) at Desmet you can enjoy a live radioshow with music and stories told by actual poets and literary people.
The music is played by a band whose performance ranges from american and dutch rock to blues and whatever else, depending on the music guest of the night so, it makes everything pleasant even though you don`t understand the dutch poems and novels.
The entry is free, you can order some drinks at the pub and take them inside the sala.
Naturally, being a live radioshow, talking or laughing aloud is not allowed at all.
