Philips excursions around Europe with her indoors

My Honda

A little bit about moi

Where does one start?

I'm 54 (at the time of writing) and have been married to Sue for 29 years. Two kids both grown up and just my daughter to leave the nest. I have tried to get her to leave but she found out where I had hidden the key to the front door.

No grand children yet but we do have a wedding coming up in July when my son gets married.

I do a boring job, the details of which I'm not prepared to go into on here. My wife is disabled with MS. She's had it for 20 years and it's just part of life now.

I support Kidderminster Harriers FC. A football club that now play in the Conference after getting relegated 3 years ago :(

For the information of those from the USA it IS called football AND NOT soccer. Yeughhh!

I also do a lot of website development and also run an independent KHFC website: Harriers Online

Time consuming and expensive to run but I could never pack it in. My adoring public need me.

I also own and drive a rareish sports car - a Honda Del Sol - that really is in need of some TLC when I can find my wallet.

With the kids

When the children were younger we took most of our holidays in this country.

Staying mainly in cottages in Cornwall, Devon and Dorset we only went abroad when our friends who lived just outside Utrecht in Holland invited us over.

Did a couple of coach trips to Paris, Amsterdam and Bruges but we never really got on with coaches and didn't do it too often.

Once the kids started going their own way we decided it was time to start going abroad properly and the chance arose on our 25th wedding anniversary when I took her to Venice. What a revelation! How can somewhere so amazing exist?

The ironic thing is that now we had the chance to enjoy ourselves her disability took over and since then it's been getting harder for her to get around.

As they say: enjoy it before it's too late. Pity we didn't listen.
On the Canal Grande
The Hotel Colon in Barcelona. Very wet.

Without the kids

Once we had taken the plunge we couldn't wait to go somewhere else but redundancy came my way and we had to think long and hard about going away again.

Luckily we thought 'sod it' we deserve to go away at least once a year so our next destination was Rome. We stayed at a smashing hotel and along with great weather we really enjoyed it.

Since then we have been to Barcelona (in a very wet January) and got robbed. Luckily her purse had very little money in it.

Pisa and Florence in the Autumn of the same year - bang went the once a year - and last year a week in Paris.

This year we're off to Lake Garda in July and I'm apprehensive. This could be a challenge trying to work out how to get to our hotel in Limone
