More then just one page..... The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page. ~St. Augustine
St. Augustine's words are so true. If one has not traveled then one has only read one page. Who would only want to read one page? I know I could not and that is why I love traveling so much. I have traveld to a few different countries - Europe and North America - but I would like so much to read a majority of this book and that is my goal. |
| This is one of those "good times." |
| | About Me... ....I know interesting right? Well first of all I love to travel, that’s why I have decided to start this page, blog or whatever you’d like to call it. I am 18 years old and if it was my choice I would take a break from school and travel till I ran out of money, the only thing bad about this idea is I would never want to go back. Oh and I do respect my parents…they got my urge for traveling started. They would like to see me get my degree, as any parent would want of their child. And I also want my degree and know it is best to, at least, get my Associates Degree out of the way before I make anymore big trips… that’s not to say I won’t go on any smallish ones though! :)
I live in beautiful Nevada! Yes beautiful....it is more than just dessert and Las Vegas. Yes there is dessert and yes Vegas is where a majority of the population lives, but there is much more to the state. For instance, Lake Tahoe…what about the Fabulous Lake Tahoe, crystal clear, cool, beautiful, stunning, calming, peaceful and therapeutic. I mean you’ve got the casinos, the beaches, shops, restaurants and all this without the smog, traffic and business of Las Vegas. Okay, Las Vegas is definitely worth going to once, twice or even three times. It’s got all those expensive stores like Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom’s. It’s got the strip, clubs and lots of other things. Go, but also look into the other parts of Nevada, such as, Reno, Lake Tahoe, Virginia City and, the capital, Carson City.
But anyways some of my other interests are my family including my pets, of course, hanging out with my friends, gardening, learning and scrapbooking. I also love to journal all my trips because if I didn’t I would forget the little things that made the trip what it was. Oh and of course I can't forget any of those "good times." That is also why I scrapbook…it makes going back and looking at the trip more of a pleasure. So for now this is it! |
Plans for the rest of 2008 Right now I only have a couple small, small trips planned…I will have a pretty heavy work load this semester, so unfortunately I won’t have to much time to travel. :(
Small Trip 1, July:
Camping up at Grover Hot Springs…I absolutely love to camp and do not get to do it enough! I will just be going with a couple of my friends for a few nights, but nonetheless. Grover Hot Springs is a nice spot to just settle down and relax for a few days. I will write more about it under California...somewhere?
Small Trip 2, August:
Family traditions (7th year)…Lake Tahoe for a whole week and I cannot wait! Every year I look forward to going up to the lake, relaxing on the beach, swimming, no TV for a week and quality time with family and friends. This year will be even greater…I will get to see a wonderful Aunt and cousins and another Uncle, Aunt and cousins (I haven’t seen in a long time). Plus my lifelong friend (18 years) will be moving up to Reno so she will come up for a couple days.
Small Trip 3, August:
Are going to see some friends in Mount Shasta....such a beautiful place!
Small Trip 4, November:
Probably going down to Anaheim for five days…I have decided to join the student government up at my community college; well actually it is a college now because it has two bachelor degrees. But anyways in November they go to this thing called NACA (don’t know what it means) were tons of college kids go to pick out different performers, i.e. musicians-comedians- speakers, to perform at their school for the spring semester. Now they aren’t famous people, but some of the ones I have heard are really good…so we get to listen to this people for a few days and then we have a day were we just get to go and do something, as a group, on our own…you know maybe Disneyland or the beach, who really knows…that is until we get there. But it is paid for by the school and you don’t have to pay for any of it…it will be pretty awesome to go to if I can keep caught up with my homework. :{
Small Trip 5, December or January (not sure yet):
…long overdue for my next trip to San Francisco. It will be over two years…that’s sad considering I used to go every year. :( But the time has come and not only do I get to visit San Fran again but I get to take my best friend (from above, 18 years) who has never been there before. It will be great…I’ll show her Fisherman’s Warf, China Town, Ghirardelli Square (free chocolate anyone), Little Italy and tons more…it will be great fun! | | |
| | Plans for 2009: Those plans aren’t quite made yet, but I do have a few ideas. I will be taking classes in the summer so I can get done with school faster, but I do have a few weeks in between the spring and summer semester…so…there is definitely some potential…maybe South America! :) Trip ?, May-June I was thinking Peru, because I have an acquaintance down there who said I could stay with her while I am in Lima and maybe Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Ecuador, Chile and Argentina. Now I know I don’t have time for all these countries or as a matter of fact half, but will have to see as the time comes closer. I know I will have about 24 days in between semesters, so I will have about 3 weeks! If anyone has any suggestions about were to visit down in South America let me know!!! I know I want to go to Lima and Cusco (Mache Pichu). Open to anything! :)
.....But I might also not take the summer semester and go to Ireland and UK for a month or two. My aunt, through marriage, is from Wales....so me and my cousin may go and stay with her relatives....sounds like a plan? :) |
