Aix en Provence, Cultural capital of Provence | Aix, Hotel de Ville (city hall) by night |
"When I was in Aix, I thought I would be better off elsewhere. Now, I miss Aix... whne you're born there, that's it, nothing else appeals". Paul Cézanne. City of water springs and art, pleasant to visit, with a lot of nice monuments and animations, exemplifies the Provençal art of living. A lot of students here, local and foreigns.
Aix still remained an important university and culture/art center. |

icunme Mon Jun 2, 2008 20:45 UTC Absolutely charming! | LKM1018 Tue Apr 8, 2008 13:52 UTC I loved walking the streets of Aix with my Mother. The weekend market was great especially the fruit. It was a great place to visit, a slower pace of life. |
