Back in the early to mid-90s, Palm Springs was the "party haven" for college students during spring break. After a lot of police crack-downs, it's not quite the "party" place it used to be. Since then, Palm Springs has been built up to cater more towards the high-end retirees, golf fanatics, spa indulgers, hikers, and rock climbers. There's plenty to do for everyone! |

Redlats Fri Nov 16, 2007 21:43 UTC Congratulations on that hike. I'm not going to follow in your footsteps, but I am hoping on going on a long hike after taking the tram to the top. Fancy hotels! I've never stayed in that fancy a hotel. | nyc10025 Thu Jun 16, 2005 21:23 UTC You were a lot more energetic than we were at the top of the tram. We hiked for about 30 minutes :-) See my Palm Desert page. Ken | mtncorg Mon Oct 13, 2003 22:46 UTC Next time, take the tram to the top and hike to the top of San Jacintosomething like 10-12 miles and I always found it a super tonic for the LA air. The views include most of SoCal on a clear day. Nice travellogue ... for a Bruin;-] | pchamlis Thu May 22, 2003 17:56 UTC Bruin as in "UCLA Bruins"? I enjoyed your Palm Springs photos, BG. Nice job.
