Virtual Tourist Registration Long hours on the net, surfing though the web for great sites and amazing range of interesting informations, I have come to stumble on this yet another awesome website, Virtual Tourist. On a quick contemplation, "I thought of registering for a change", which brought me to writing the first chapter of my homepage. Fortunately unfortunate, I haven't been to 'lot of places yet in the world nor in my own country. Though my eagerness to share my experiences about the few locations I have been to inspire me to give this a try.Besides, I bet there is a dash of passion for traveling within this dull soul of mine, somehow sometime if opportunity allows, in the near future. Then it would be easy to connect and find information about destinations my family would visit. Virtual tourist could be a great tool in broadening my views and appreciating more the commonalities of my daily surroundings. I am glad I have found this site. I could learn a lot from other members and learn how to write as well, sort of, with the pressure of logging something on every once in a while.I would do my best to update my Virtual Tourist every possible I can.A Filipina in the Kingdom |

Putting up my Virtual Tourist page. I realized, it is not as easy as it seems, but this is not the first time. I have bunch of sites to update every now and then. However this is totally different one, at least, everything must revolve on places I visited and experiences I encountered, which is starting NOW! I would log in every detail of information about almost everything that happens to me everywhere. Isn’t that cool? I need something to boost my life up. Poor me. Going back to that idea, revolve on places I visited and experiences I encountered, I am somehow typeless, if there’s such a word. Again, places I visited. The experience was all far too long ago, my memory could only have quick and very short snapshots of my very few childhood adventures. Nevertheless I included them in my travel map, he he, to make it look 'more travelled', yet still not. However I would leave my travel pages about these countries blank due to blurred memories. So I am informing peeps in advance, that Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea pages of mine are left blank because I do not have a full recollection of the experience, just blurred ones. Oh! I keep on repeating myself nowadays. My memory’s apology. As of now and lately, not much of travelling yet, so until then I would write about the place I am in. :-) I did a short recap though about those childhood adventures, ha ha, as it may seem blurred in my mind I typed it down anyway. *Wringing my brains’ out for those far-off distant past childhood travelling memories* |
SINGAPORE: Neat Uncrowded City More than 10 years ago, I remember setting foot on the neatest road I have ever seen in my entire childhood life. As I recall we stayed in a ‘not so first class’ hotel because I remember the ‘not so fine’ interior and furnishings. But it has very clean rooms and good services. As of right now I am in doubt if my memories have been jumbled. Anyways, I remember we have been queuing inside the port to ride a boat and after that my memory does not allow me to recall further. Oh yeah! One time I even saw that somewhat lion mermaid waggling in my dreams, I think it was the Singapore’s Liberty Statue, something like that. |
INDONESIA: The sultry breeze Not in Jakarta. From a ship we went ashore by a boat. We took a tricycle going to the nearest town center and found out that it was a very provincial location. Inside the narrow 2 storey mall we have been to, were few restaurants, lots of market-like shops for clothes and the not so well-maintained number of amusement rides. Outside, the scene that striked me first were open eateries, vast undeveloped land, tricycles and jeepneys.
There were few trucks passing by while waiting for a ride on a bit muddy road. The mucky water splashing almost to where we stood. I will not forget my somewhat dazzled face when I saw humid dust hovering my face that day. I was staring at the wind smelling the sultry breeze. The tricycle we were in was running fast. I loved the wind speeding through my hair and face. |
KOREA: A lot of my 'first time' It was my first time to have felt snow and first time to have stepped on ice with my rubber shoes. Yes! I slipped down and hit my bum on the ground. Whoops! I love to laugh when I was a kid. I kept laughing until we got to our shopping destination that was somewhat 30-minute ride. It was winter that time and the market place we went to was amazing.
On the destination, it was an average size market place. Shops were all so inviting. The pathways even though somewhat tiny were clean. Everything was so cute and colorful. Koreans there looks cute and colorful as well with bright faces and bewitching smiles. I felt scared at first.
There were these vendors on the streets, they would ask your name write it artistically on a white silkish scroll in Korean alphabet and draw a design around it as well then sell it to you afterwards. It was so cool, we all had one and hanged it in our room back home. Though, we were not sure if what we hanged in our rooms were our names and not someone else’s. It was all fun even though we had more sightseeing than shopping.
After few hours enjoying the area we ate in Burger King nearby, first time too, Philippines did not have one until early 2000’, not that I know of. |
PHILIPPINES: My humble country Places I loved and visited with my beloved family.
BAGUIO: Been there before the major Philippine earthquake back in the late 80’s. I can’t even remember how young I was. But I am writing it down anyway. I bet no body reads up to here anyway. If you are, I appreciate your patience. Patience is a virtue. Hats off to you, beloved reader!
TAGAYTAY: Exceptional sceneries and fresh air. Definitely a must-go-again destination.
PUERTO GALERA: We visited a hundred times, before its popularity in 2000’s.
PUERTO AZUL: My parents loved this humungous resort on the seaside. CALIRAYA: Another resort I so loved because of high school memories.
LAGUNA BEACH RESORTS: Crystal Springs, Splash Island and other forgettable ones. Tropical, tropical, a very tropical land indeed! |
I am displeased that I can’t share images of places I have mentioned above, too bad digital camera aren't so popular those times yet and so much more a gigabyte memory to store them in. Only pictures in album and memories stored in mind. Also, I bet I was too young to even play with a camera. Though there are bunch of pictures about them on the net, somehow I feel that if this is somewhat a personal page I should use my own pictures as well.
In the future I will surely post images on my reviews, snaps I myself have taken. Cheers! |
