A "drop bear" - Australia and Oceania

A "drop bear"

HEARD OF DROP BEARS ? re Aussie sense of humour

Well this is mostly related to Australians having that outrageous sense of humour. Someone might look very serious in warning you of "drop bears"dropping on your laps in the bush, and that these creatures especially at night will suddenly appear and drop on ya, etc. To which naturally you will say, "Thanks, I'll have to watch out for them!"

But then again, what are drop bears?

They are just the Aussie slang for KOALAS!

Unique Suggestions: To make it bearable, of course you have to show an equallly terrific sense of humour and don't be embarrassed if you had been had for a while. Some will not bother telling you what they really are so you will make a fool of yourselves even more and write about the drop bears or tell other innocent tourists about those creatures that might drop on your lap at night!

Fun Alternatives: No alternative, just enjoy that fact you have caused happiness in the eyes of your Aussie hosts!
