SOUTHEND
Southend on sea is a town on the Thames estuary in Essex. It was inhabited during the Stone Age, Bronze Age and early Iron Age. It has been successfully settled by the Romans, Saxons and the Danes. Southend boasts the worlds longest pleasure pier [2360 yards], which was built in 1835. A train runs the length of the pier with a cafe and RNLI station at the end.
