Nascar Cafe: Make a pit stop at the Nascar Cafe

Restaurant Name: Nascar Cafe
Nascar Cafe at the Sahara Hotel at the top of Las Vegas Boulevard is a must. Its not just for car enthusiasts, its great for anyone and everyone! The cafe has a very colourful, American feel to it with lots of Nascar memorabilia on the walls. The biggest attraction (quite literally) is Carzilla, a monster of a car, which hangs over the downstairs bar. We sat upstairs but we could look over the rails and see Carzilla from where we were sitting. The food is reasonably priced, the portions are quite large. My boyfriend had a chicken caesar wrap with fries and I had a cheese and bacon burger with fries - neither of us could finish our meals (but then the American portions are alot larger than typical British portions). There was plenty to choose from on the menu, mainly burgers, fries, milkshakes etc. You can even purchase a novelty cup that looks like a fuel can. Our waitress was very friendly. She offered to take a photo of us and she was very helpful when we asked her for directions to Fremont Street. The service was pretty quick too but when we went the restaurant was fairly quiet.
Favorite Dish: We only ate here once because it was at the opposite end of the strip but I'm pretty sure whatever you eat here will be great. If you go onto their website you can view their menu.

Flamingo Buffet: Lunch Buffet - not just seafood!

Restaurant Name: Flamingo Buffet
Alot of the reviews on here comment on the seafood, when I went to the lunchtime buffet I don't recall seeing any seafood. There was a fairly good selection of food (the MGM Grand Dinner Buffet had more choice but I don't know if thats because it was a dinner buffet and slightly more expensive). We didn't have to queue when we went to the Flamingo at lunchtime so that was a bonus. Best bit - the view of the flamingo garden while you eat Worst bit - the iced tea. Do not order iced tea here, it is literally like regular cold tea - URGH!

Mon Ami Gabi: Dining alfresco

Restaurant Name: Mon Ami Gabi
I'd read a bit about Mon Ami Gabi before I went to Vegas. From what I can gather it is the only outdoor eating place on the strip. We had lunch on the patio one afternoon and were sitting there long enough to see the fountain show at the Bellagio. The fountain show across the street and the alfresco dining is what makes Mon Ami Gabi that little bit more... talked about.
Favorite Dish: Sitting outside and being very hot I chose to have a salad, which was actually tastier than it sounds. My boyfriend had a sandwich with crisps (potato chips) which was fairly huge by my standards. We were also given a baguette to share before our meal which came in a paper bag, as it was in a bag I thought we could take it with us when we left but the waiter took it away before we had chance to ask for it. Oh well.

A stand inside the Bellagio: The best chocolate milkshake ever!

Restaurant Name: A stand inside the Bellagio
When making our way around the strip one evening we strolled past the Bellagio and wanted to get across the street to Ballys. Inside one of the entrances there is a stand that sells drinks and snacks. I bought a chocolate milkshake and it was the best chocolate milkshake ever! Admittedly the Bellagio isn't the cheapest place to go but hey!

MGM Grand Buffet: A good selection but not the cheapest

Restaurant Name: MGM Grand Buffet
We stayed at the MGM Grand when in Vegas and decided to try the dinner buffet. It wasn't particularly cheap from what I remember (not sure of exact price) but if you have a large appetite its pretty good. The only other buffet we tried during our stay was the lunchtime one at The Flamingo, which was cheaper but had less choice of food. Food selection was good, atmosphere was fine and I don't think we waited too long for a table.
Favorite Dish: I can't remember what I ate here, probably a random mixture of things that I fancied at the time! :)

NY, NY Food Court: I scream for Ice Cream

Restaurant Name: Mezzanine level of NY NY
At the entrance to the New York Hotel there are stalls and small snack bars selling pretzels, toffee apples and soft drinks. We decided to stop here for ice cream. Plenty of flavours to choose from. There's also a couple of tables in there for if you wanted to eat your ice cream there rather than outside in the hot sunshine.
