Nandos: Chicken and Peri-Peri

We were wandering about Melbourne and we were hungry. We wanted something simple that wasn't a McDonalds or Subway. All we could find were restaurants selling fancy asian food and I wasn't really in the mood to try Korean or Malaysian for the first time so we settled for something familiar, Nandos.

Now I know "hardcore travellers" would turn their noses up at Nandos and other chain restaurants and opt for something authentic but who cares! I like Nandos. There are plenty of branches to be found all over the city so I can't remember which one we went to but it was nice and we didn't have to wait long for our food.

Favorite Dish: We had a big plate of chicken and chips for two. There were sauce bottles on the table so my boyfriend could make his spicy and I could enjoy mine as mild as possible.

My favourite Nandos meal at home in the UK, however, is chicken wings, garlic bread and corn on the cob.

Cafeteria Five66: Nice little cafe for yummy breakfast or lunch

This is a small cafe situated on Flinders Street. We decided to grab lunch here after the Neighbours Tour. The menu seemed quite breakfast orientated with delicious things such as pancakes and bagels on offer. We chose to have roast beef sandwiches and they were really tasty.

The cafe is quite small but has a relaxed, trendy atmosphere. There is a magazine rack at the entrance so I imagine its the sort of place people on their own will come to for a quick bite to eat.

I probably wouldn't make a special trip here but if you're feeling peckish after the Neighbours Tour then I would strongly recommend it.

Favorite Dish: Roast beef sandwiches were yummy! The menu looked yummy but we only came here once.
