I don't really know what to say here but I guess it should be about travel. Well, I was born in England, UK and I still live there now. As a child we had many holidays around England (along with day trips into Europe), as I got older I began to venture to places a little further and climates a little hotter, school trips into Europe, Family holidays in the Meditteranean. Now I'm in my 20s I want to spread my wings further, sun and sand holidays are great but now I want to experience things. I want to see the majestic Taj Mahal, go on safari in Africa, soak in Iceland's Blue Lagoon. I don't want a 'sunburn and hangover' holiday, I want a trip of a lifetime. |

| | In 2007 I was lucky enough to go to Las Vegas (see my page to find out what I got up to!) If you've never been, its pretty amazing, we crammed alot into the space of a week. Since returning from Vegas and back to mundane reality (and the job I need to get the finances for my travels!) I've wanted nothing more than to go back... that was until we began planning for 2008s holiday which lead me to find Virtual Tourist in the first place! :-)
In the recent years I have been bitten by the travel bug I have also been bitten by the photography bug - it seems to me that the two go hand in hand. The more recent the journey, the more photographs I have to show and the more stories and tips I have to share, which is why some of my pages will be blank. For example, the only thing I remember about Belgium was eating Tutti Frutti ice cream (it was quite a while ago!), whereas in Las Vegas 600 photographs was the tip of the iceberg!
Anyway, I would like to think that fellow virtual tourists will find my tips useful and insightful, if not, just enjoy the pictures! |
5 travel-related facts about me 1. When I go abroad one thing I like to keep as a souvenir is some of the currency.
2. My other holiday souvenir tradition is to bring back a fridge magnet for my parents.
3. I live in England and I've been as far away as Australia and Japan but I've never been to Scotland or Ireland (I think I may have been to Wales once as a child but I can't remember).
4. I'm a little bit addicted to travel books and websites. They satisfy my wanderlust a little when my finances won't allow me to.
5. Ironically for someone so interested in travel, I suffer from travel (motion) sickness, especially on ferrys. | | |

| | My VT pages and tips I try to be as thorough as I can when writing about places but unfortunately I'm not someone who keeps a travel journal, so if I can't remember the restaurant or shop name then there won't be a tip about it. I'm also not very numerically minded so some of my tips won't have prices attached to them (and because my brain, unlike this website, doesn't operate in US dollars) but where possible I try to find a website related to the tip.
I like to give my tips a touch of my own experience, a unique take about a tourist hotspot is just as good as an off the beaten path experience. I love hearing from people who found my tips helpful so don't be afraid to leave me a little message! :-) |
And to end with, a quote from the movie 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy' - "You stay classy Planet Earth, and thanks for stopping by!" |
