It's the desert. It's the people. it's the mint tea. It's minute and magical. A veiled country that will reveal itself to you only if you really want it. And then, could it still be hiding under a 7th veil?

Honestly, Noakchott is an ugly city. It's only 50 years old, was built out of nowhere and just happens to be the capital. It's not very nice to walk anywhere because it's sprawled like a big cat, you can't find your ways because it's flat, has no point of reference, and streets have no name. There's no central place (apart from the Central Market?), no shopping galery, no obvious starting and ending point. But it's good to get started in Mauritania then go off and discover the country. If you're stuck there on business, you'll get quickly your own habits: gym, restaurant... to me, it's the people, the markets, the friends I've made. Just life, really!
