"The St Lawrence River" Province of Quebec by raquelitalarga

I went with a group from the University of New York. We stayed in a small hostel next to the river. This is a very French-speaking area and the charming proprietess didn't speak any English. Dinner was Quebecois special of chips and gravy. The stars were amazing.
Next day we took a boat out with scientists who are studying different whale species. They strongly disapprove of the larger tourist boats that aren't sensitive to the need not to interfere with the mammals natural behaviour. It was freezing. The photos didn't come out well but it was one of the most magical encounters I have ever had.
Later on the drive back we parked over looking a fjord and saw a group of beluga whales swimming out to sea.
