The plan was to rest up in Tossa de Mar for a couple of days before travelling to Castilla-León. However it was such a lovely place that we stayed for an extra night and felt sad to leave! We had read from our travel guide that it was one of the best resorts on this costa but I don't think the book did it justice! Lloret del Mar is just along the coast and that is horrendously ugly and overdeveloped yet Tossa has managed to preserve it's old town beautifully. The few hotels don't have more than 5 floors and don't dominate the waterfront . The castle on the rocky promontary dominates the town and the beach has many small fishing boats to add to the picturesque scene. |

| Pros: | "Lots of bars, restaurants, hostals, beautiful old town" | | Cons: | "Beach not suitable for young children" | | In A Nutshell: | "One of the few places on the costas not ruined by development" |
