Can't figure it out
What is travelling about? ...
You travel. You have a great time. You see wonderful places and wish you could stay there longer, forever maybe.
You take your time thinking about that, maybe you should just do it? Pack your life and move? To that sunny tempting beach?
You go there in your mind... see yourself starting the new life that favorite place of yours. You leave back your friends, maybe take your partner. Unless you're an millionaire, you sure'd have to work at some point.
You imagine yourself getting up at 6 in the morning, the night has been warm, the day will be even hotter. You take your cold shower, once again things don't work and there's no hot water. You grab your t-shirt and run out of the door to catch one of those crowded busses that will bring you to your workplace.
It's a day in the over-airconditioned office, you do quite the same what you used to do back in your old life, cause that's what you are capable of, that's what brings you the money. If you're lucky, you have changed your job. Maybe you run a cute little beach bar of your own now. Then you'll probably start cleaning up more mess from the day before, shop supplies and stand in the kitchen for the rest of the day.
Late in the evening you'll tidy up your bar or desk, you'll buy stuff for your dinner, you'll go home and do some laundry, maybe meet some friends, and if you're lucky, you leave your job early enough to catch the last sunshine and relax on that faboulous beach you choosed.
In the weekends, you usually hang out at that beach. After some months you get bored. Life is all the same. Same people, same work, same problems, same beach.
You imagine yourself sitting on that beach, imagining what life would have been like back in your old life now. You miss your family and friends from old school days. You go home, electricity has gone once again. You're fed up. You think: maybe I should take some time off and go travel...
You wake up from your daydreams and realize, whereever you'd choose to stay, things will follow you. Outer circumstances only change life for a while. At last, once you're settled again, you'll be like you've always been. You'll not necessarily be happier just because you move.
So can't I just learn to be happy in the moment and with what I got? What's the point in travelling??
I love travelling.
