On entering Jackson, you feel like you are back in the wild west or in one of those western movies, a few Hollywood western movies have been made here. Go inside the Million Dollar Cowboy bar for a drink or just a look. Saddles for bar stools and other interesting western gear. Across the road, is the town square. Elk Antler arches are on each corner of the square, and probably photographed by everybody. They are collected by the Boy scouts from the Elk Refuge just outside of Jackson. Approx 15,000 Elk come in the Winter. The Scouts collect the Antlers, they sort, bundle, weigh and tag them, then hold and auction in the Town Square in May. The Arches were made from Elk antlers in the 1950's and 60's. |
| | The name of the town got a laugh from the Aussies on the tour, as a "HOLE" can mean a dump of a town. This town certainly wasn't a dump, it was really nice. You can walk most of the streets. Plenty of shops (seem to cater for tourists big time) In places, the verandahs are a wooden boardwalk. |

| | Some big names have homes here, Robert Redford, Dick Chenny, and Harrison Ford.
There is plenty to see and do in Jackson Hole and the beautiful surroundings. |

Yaqui Wed Sep 30, 2009 18:04 UTC Gosh, this page reminds of a roommate I had at Basic Training. She was from Jackson Hole and talked about her hometown with such pride. Nice page! | Pawtuxet Sun Aug 30, 2009 12:58 UTC Jackson Hole is a nice stopover. We found it a bit artificial... but fun. | angiebabe Tue Jun 23, 2009 09:13 UTC You made an excellent tour |
