"SCENIC & DELIGHTFUL SMALL TOWNS" Manawatu/Wanganui by balhannah

Take the drive..............

Our tour of this area was with our Camper Van, following Highway 1 from

Marton, through to "Bulls" ......Plenty of BULL! in this town, you really must

stop and have a look around.

There are many, small interesting towns on the way, plus a large Army

Camp before entering the road junction at Waiouru.

From here, we went to Ohakune, they grow lots of Carrots here, and then

followed Highway 4 to Wanganui.

Now, this is a long way to reach Wanganui, but we were on holiday, and

the beautiful scenery and sights is what we wanted to see.

This route did not disappoint, what a lovely day's drive we had!

Years ago I knew a very nice boy from Wanganui. I didn't know then it was such a lovely place. And its inhabitants certainly have a sense of humour - all those bulls! LOL
