The Emerald green lake, surrounded by beautiful mountains and rock faces is Germany's highest Lake, at 603 metre's above sea level.

I would imagine the water would be pretty cold if you fell in, as the depth of the Lake 200metres! Cruises depart regularly.

    Oh my, but yes, Königssee is known for quick storms and weather change. That's the location and Watzmann. But I am amazed that the shops close so early!

      Yes, very quick. Lovely and sunny, then a really wild storm, thought we were back in Queensland haha!

      Who would have thought a storm would have come up so quick, and such a nasty one.
      I can understand how all those people lost their lives on this lake all those years ago.

    We got caught in a thunderstorm walking down from the top of the Eagle's Nest. We did not know whether to shelter under the trees or stay in the open? Alan
