Volendam

I guess you can call it a medium sized town of about 25,000 people situated in the North of Holland.

It is well known in Holland for its fishing boats and the Traditional costume worn by some of the citizens.
I only saw Shop owners wearing costume.

Seaside shops, mainly food & souvenir

The day I visited, it was cold, wet and very windy along the sea front, it blew my Umbrella inside out.

I decided to spend some time in the Shops, it certainly was warmer, and out of the weather.

In the backstreets of Volendam

Feeling hungry, must have been the weather! went looking for somewhere to have an early lunch. It was hard to make my mind up, there were so many places to eat, and in great locations.

Fish & Chips was the order of the day for me, very nice.

After lunch, the Rain had stopped, so it made it a little easier for walking around the town.

Pity you had unfriendly weather. Friends who stayed for 10 days between here and Edam during an exceptional (July) heat wave have not stopped talking about it. Must get there soon!
