"HISTORICAL RASTATT" Rastatt by balhannah

Rastatt Travel Guide: 35 reviews and 214 photos

RASTATT IS CITY LOCATED BESIDE THE RIVER MURG IN BADEN-WURTTEMBERG.

Rastatt Residential Palace was built by Margrave Ludwig Wilhelm and Margravine Sibylla Augusta of Baden-Baden, based on the design of the French Versailles.

It is one of the few residential palaces that survived World War II unscathed.

I found Rastatt had plenty of historical interest. The Schloss Favorite and Rastatt Palace are both places that must be seen.

Now we are going to see the medieval town of ETTLINGEN

A very interesting place, Dee! You have given me a good idea to come to Rastatt because Karlsruhe which is situated nearby is among German cities we visit very often. We passed by Rastatt many times but never thought to have a look at it.

I was so lucky to be able to quickly take those photo's. They aren't the best because it was rushed. Didn't expect the guide to say that!!!

Great page! I once visited Rastatt with several VTers as part of the Karlsruhe Glühwein meeting. We also had a tour of the palace :-)
