Mons is the capital of the Province of Hainaut and is about 35 miles south of Brussels.

Did you know Maison du Marais, is the house were Van Gogh lived between 1879 and 1880.

You can visit and see the original work "Les Bêcheurs" (1880).

At Mons

On August 23 and 24, 1914, Mons was the site of the first battle fought by the British Army in World War I.

The British were forced to retreat and the town was occupied by the Germans, until its liberation by the Canadian Corps during the final days of the war.

I enjoyed Mon's, especially the Town Square!

I love the square, Dee and the Belgians sure know how to build a beautiful Town Hall. I'd like to visit here.
