We came to Melk especially to see the Abbey.

First sighting of it was impressive!

Please join me for a virtual tour of the Abbey, seeing what I saw during my time at the Abbey.
It is a MUST VISIT!

All around Melk are Castles, Ruins and beautiful scenery, and lets not forget the Danube River.

I loved the River, just enjoyed watching all the traffic going along it. What a veiw those people must have on the tourist boats, I think a wonderful way to enjoy the scenery.

Melk lived up to its reputation, it was fantastic!

We are back in the car and following the Danube.
It is very scenic all the way along, until we reach DURNSTEIN a town where we will spend some time in.

Fantastic photos of all the things we missed in Melk and vicinity. (As I recall, we just camped there for one night and then paddled on to Vienna.)

Melk and its abbey are much better known than Grein. Another interesting page about your trip through Austria.

It's no wonder that people flock to Melk and especially to the Abbey. I love the Marble Hall and the beautiful gardens and the food in the restaurant doesn't look too bad either. Well done, Dee.
