"PETERSFIELD" Petersfield by balhannah

Petersfield Travel Guide: 3 reviews and 13 photos

Petersfield, a quiet Village in the beautiful East Hampshire countryside.

We had excellent accommodation here, and an excellent meal at the Pub.
I also saw a pair of British Bull Dogs and found out the owner's ran a British Bulldog Rescue Home for abandoned dogs.

All good memories from Petersfield.

Petersfield was settled in the 12th Century as a Market Town.

The Statue of King William III (of Orange) and marks the centre of Petersfield. Many Band's of marching Orangemen come in mid-July to commemorate William's victory at the Battle of the Boyne.

On 6 October every year the Taro Fair is held on Petersfield Heath, a reminder of cattle fairs that were held annually until the 1950s.

At Petersfield's market square, there are regular markets throughout the week, and there are also monthly Farmers' markets held on the 1st Sunday of every month.
Petersfield was once home to the world's first Teddy Bear Museum, which opened in 1984 and closed in 2006.
