"OSLO - CITY OF SCULPTURES!" Oslo by balhannah

Oslo Travel Guide: 2,963 reviews and 7,173 photos

OSLO WAS FOUNDED 1,000 YEARS AGO!

MY husband and I have arrived in Oslo, via a Cruise Ship. Lucky for us, we have a full day here!
We made sure we were off the Ship asap, and on our way.

With comfortable shoes on, water and maps picked up from the information centre, we started walking towards the city centre.

I hope you will join us as our "virtual companion," as we visit Museums and see as much as possible in a day in Oslo

Oslo is located at the head of the Oslo Fjord and is surrounded by forested hills.

It is known for being one of the world's most expensive cities, and as number two on a list of the world's greenest, and is said to be one of the most liveable cities!

The climate in Oslo is fairly mild.

Our day in Oslo is over, and we have returned to the ship.

We stand on the deck and watch as we pull away from the wharf, and begin heading down the pretty Oslo fjord.

Oslo we loved, just too much to see, I think you would need a week!

We were more than happy with what we managed to see. Now, time to get ready for Dinner on the Ship, then see a Show before heading to bed and waking up in Copenhagen where we will disembark, denoting the end of a wonderful, scenic cruise.

Wow! You certainly covered a lot of ground for one day! I can see I will need to do some research on the history of this area before we go - and read Kon Tiki. Thanks for the great virtual cruise! ~Brenda

Thanks Brenda. Others often say that! I think the answer is because I research well before I go, therefore we know exactly where we are going without wasting anytime. Even then, there isn't enough hours, and Oslo has so much!

I tend to travel the same way. I find I enjoy the things I'm seeing so much more when I have the proper foundation (historical, etc.) already firm in my mind.
