1st page written on VT about Bald Rock National Park

Located about halfway between Stanthorpe and Tenterfield, Bald Rock National Park is in New South Wales, and Girraween National Park is in Queensland.

Bald Rock would also be one of my favorites, it has everything!

Bald Rock is the largest granite rock in Australia and is 750 metres long, 500 metres wide and 200 metres high.

I always wondered too how things grow in between rocks and stones. Nice page Dee.

Very good information on Bald Rock! This is my kind of place. The scenery reminds me of hiking in the northeast USA.

I love this type of scenery too! Another good park close by is Girraween. Australia has lots of interesting and wonderful National Parks. I've just completed some beauties in Western Australia. Thanks for visiting!

What an interesting hike. Jón´s father makes the round "signs" here in Iceland, where it is explained which mountains you see. We are going to track them down around Iceland next summer.

That will be interesting! This is an excellent nat/park. I love all the huge granite boulders and the orchids and ferns growing in the cracks of the boulders.

Dee I saw something similar at the barrens outside of Halifax, NS though these looked huge! You made a good point of being very careful about hiking and getting lost, well done!

How exciting it must have been to reach the top of Bald Rock. I must try and do it myself one day.
