.......THIS IS GEIRANGER.....

Today, 500,000 Tourist's come to Geiranger, making Tourism the main industry in Geiranger.

Every year, between 150 and 200 cruise ships come to Geiranger.

Geiranger lies at the head of the Geiranger fjord, which is a branch of the Storfjord. The nearest city is Alesund.

Geiranger is home to some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, and has been named the best travel destination in Scandinavia by Lonely Planet.

No wonder, I think it deserves that award, because the scenery was breathtaking, and the amount of waterfalls was incredible.

Each year in June at Geiranger, the "Fjord to Summit" event is held. It comprises a half marathon run and a bicycle race, both starting from the sea level at the fjord and ending at the summit of Mount Dalsnibba.

We had a wonderful time in Geiranger. We caught the Tender back to the Ship, and soon were on our way to our next port of call, FLAM

I'm glad you enjoyed Geiranger as much as we did. You had more luck with the weather on Dalsnibba - we had to go back before we reached the top because of the low clouds. I am not surprised that the other tourists were not taking any pictures on the way. They may have found the journey rather alarming.

Looks like you had a better day than us but it was still a lovely visit. Glad you were also able to find the public bus, it was a lot of work to find independent excursions on this trip but we did in all but Flam.

Lucky you, I have never had anything like that, nor been upgraded in a cabin like some people have.
Did you enjoy Bergen. We didn't go there

Bergen was our last stop so we decided just to wander the city. The views from the mountain are beautiful but otherwise Bergen was not the highlight of the trip. How could it be with waterfalls and glaciers in all the other ports?
