THE ROSE CAPITAL OF FRANCE
A mild climate & Roses, and more Roses, .........
An annual rose festival is held in mid-July where Rose grower's from all over Europe display over a hundred thousand flowers in the cathedral type caves known as 'Les Arènes'.
Doue-la-Fontaine has the troglodyte villages nearby, 18th century stables of Baron Foullon and the ancient commerce museum as well as the last windmill to be constructed in the region in 1910.

Love the water tower - would love to see and smell all these roses - wonderful :)
Me too! I thought it was a great idea to have it painted, looks much better than our grey concrete ones!
That water tower is rather amazing - I never saw anything quite like it! And I never knew there were troglodyte villages in France. The hotel looks a great find, though for me that wallpaper is a little over-powering!
Wow, this water tower in your intro photo looks... so beautiful! No wonder with this huge rose garden. Haha, the best thing to read today on Valentine's Day .-) Loverly hotel find you had!
Could that Church near the village of the cave dwellings be
Rochemenier ?
