Fougères Travel Guide: 43 reviews and 101 photos

ONE OF MY FAVORITES

Fougeres is a town I really enjoyed walking around.

There was the Chateau de Fougeres and the Medieval Quarter being the lower town, and a newer 18th century area which is the "upper town."

This is your Fougeres. We need to visit it. There is another wonderful Fougeres in the Loire (Fougeres-sur-Bievre) that also has a chateau and is a lovely little village.

Oh, lifelong learning! Never heard of this castle-fortress, but it looks nice and inspiring! I adore the stained glass windows! :-)

Anice page Dee, great photos and the fort looks so strong. Good to see that motor cars can still enter through the city gate

I have never been to Fougères but it looks a lovely town, especially being split between the two levels like this

What a picturesque place - the views from the terrace of St Leonard's Church are indeed stunning!
