Dunedin can be very cold. While we were there, it blew a gale and was
sleeting, very, very cold, espescially for Tropical Queenslanders.
Dunedin has nice buildings, eg. The Railway station, opened in 1906,
First Church, built in a Gothic Style, Otago Boys High School and others.
- Cons:Very cold place

Thanks for the memories Dee. I was there in 1966 on a Rugby trip. Too busy for tourist activities, but clearly remember the bitterly cold weather, steep streets, old buildings, and fantastic hospitality.
Dunedin definitely has a look of Europe about it. I love the Castle and can'thelpwondering how a bank manager could afford all that. Maybe he couldn't and that's why he took his own life. Did you find out the reason for his suicide?
Interesting tips on "New Zealand's 1st City" and the surrounding area. I like that statue in Ranfurly of the Governor General as a surveyor (or looking through a telescope?) -- very unusual.
Wow, Dee, the architecture alone is breathtaking. Really enjoyed viewing and reading these pages. Your perceptive descriptions and positive narrative are splendid.
This looks wonderful. Thanks so much for your virtual visit.
