South Australian's love Victor Harbour!

I guess, because many have happy memories of childhood holidays at "Victor!"

The Aboriginal Dreaming story Ngurunderi – Dreaming of the Ngarrindjeri is about Victor Harbour and area.
You will read about these places in my tips on these pages and others"

Victor Harbour is located 80km south of Adelaide on the shores of the Southern ocean.

There are panoramic views of the rugged granite landmark "The bluff," and the well known Granite Island.

In winter the Southern Right Whales can be seen basking at Encounter Bay, only metres from the shore line.

Whale watching occurs around July to August, when southern right whales return to the sheltered bays to calve and mate.
Victor Harbour is also home to a colony of little (or fairy) penguins.

From Adelaide, we have come to Victor Harbor VIA Mt. Barker, Strathalbyn and Goolwa.

For our return journey, we are going a different, scenic way home, via Route 13, which is the Victor Harbour road that leads through Hindmarsh Valley, Mt. Compass and along the South Road back to%c* Adelaide

2012 -11,500km journey, we are now heading to CAPE JERVIS to catch the ferry to Kangaroo Island.

They are gentle giants. I love them! Early settlers used them to plough the land. My father used to have one at home.
