Hue

I Arrived in Hue early morning on a flight from Hanoi.

Got the airporter bus to my Hotel which was located in a side lane.

After settling in, I went walking, then hired a cyclo to take me past the main sights. My driver could speak English and was informative.

There is a huge market where you can browse around.

Hue is located on the edge of the Perfume river. Alongside this, is a nice river walk.

On the downside, there are quite a few beggars here.

For meals................
There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, have found them all ok.

City tour - Hue

I did a full day city tour, which was excellent.

We went to the Citadel first, then a garden house, a incense and conical hat making village and Tu Duc Tomb, which was very impressive.

Lunch was at a city Hotel.

After lunch to Khai dinh tomb, Minh Mang Tomb and the Perfume Pagoda.

It was back to Hue by dragon boat.
A nice, relaxing way to return to Hue, also, I got to see how the locals lived, on and beside the River.

DMZ tour from Hue & Boat on perfume river.

This tour visited the war sites and you went into tunnels where a whole village lived during the War.

It was a pleasant, interesting days outing, even though it was a long day.

For my last day, I hired a boat for 6hours to take me up the perfume river.

I thought Hue was quite nice, easy to walk around. It has some lovely, French colonial buidings.

My favorite sites were the Citadel and the Tombs.

Hello! I really enjoyed reading your tips, thanks for sharing! Especially the underground village sounds very eerie and impressive. I'm travelling to Scotland again this summer... what are your summer plans? Greetings from Dubai / Jess :-)
