"BAD WINDSHEIM HAS A LOT TO OFFER!" Bad Windsheim by balhannah

Bad Windsheim Travel Guide: 23 reviews and 86 photos

Bad Windsheim is a small historic Town in Bavaria, Germany, another one that I enjoyed. It lies in the district Neustadt an der Aisch - Bad Windsheim, west of Nuremberg. The Town dates back to 741, when it was called 'Uuinidesheim'. Later, it was renamed Bad Windsheim, meaning 'The home of the wind'.

Nowadays, the town is known for its waters and spa, Franken-Therme, and an open-air museum, the Freilandmuseum, which brings together old farms and farmhouses from the area to explore.

On the first weekend in August every year, a Concert called the 'Weinturm Open Air', is held on the top of a hill in the town.
