Shidong market is one of the most interesting markets in Southwest China,if you have a chance, please don't miss it.Shidong men are so good at making silver ornaments and women are good at making embroidery pieces. Therefore,we can see people selling silver ornaments and embroideries in this market. The Shidong market happens every 6 days, and just by the river. In this picture, these women are buying the bulls' skin for mixing it with indigo water. For more information, you can visit the local website:www.toguizhou.com |
| | Pingjiang Market Pingjiang is on the way from Kaili to Rongjiang. The market in Pingjiang is every 6 days, and people come from far and near villages. Some people living the remote villages must have at least 3 hour's walk to the market and have to depart there for homes before 4 o'clock pm,and make sure the road back home is safe, because there are snakes in the mountains! Not all of them come here for business, some are just asking someone to help them send the messages to their friends or relatives, since they seldom have time to meet each other often.Younger girls try to wear their best clothes to meet their boys in the market,so do boys.In this market,we can see different people, such as Shui,Dong, and Miao. |
