The food was excellent and exceeded all my expectations. As the trip was a romantic one I really wanted the dining experience to be not only good but great. It was! The restaurants around Port Vieux have everything you could ever wish for, mainly seafood.
The prices are between moderate and expensive. Take the thick wallet with you, just in case.

As me and my girlfriend were walking from our hotel in the centre of the city we got attacked by two young men who yelled at us in French for no reason.
We ran away, asked some people for help but had to make it on our own.

When we took a walk a back to the hotel a couple of hours later we decided to take a different road, just because we didn't want be reminded of the earlier incident. But we got lost! Thanks to some really kind people - who we named Claude and Jeanette, or something like that - we got back to the hotel safe. The gave us directions at first, but when they saw us stepping in to a taxi a couple of minutes later they gave us a ride The "mugging incident" sort of messed up parts of the evening, but due to our other experiences in the city we will mostly remember all the romantic stuff - and the help we got from two strangers!
