Was also there in December 2007 with a group, and found the rooms small, shabby and rundown, a far cry from the hotel website's description of a "luxury four star city centre hotel". The location was quite good, within easy (15 - 20 minutes) walking distance of the Vatican, Piazza di Spagna, etc., and there were several reasonable restaurants close by. The hotel breakfast bar was pitiful compared with other hotels on this trip, with minimal variety and cold scrambled eggs and bacon. Le Bouchon, the hotel's restaurant, served a good meal for our group on our last night.
Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, some should never be in the hospitality business.
The Christmas Tree and lights were lovely!
I would not go back unless there was an ownership/management change and I knew someone who could verify the improvement in quality.
