About Buzios

Buzios Catholic church

Buzios, a former fishing village, now is one of Brazil's most known beach spots thanks to their stunning beaches and the praises that some stars like Brigitte Bardot and Mick Jagger have made of them in the 60's and 70's.
It is located around 4 hours from Rio de Janeiro (170 km away), and has around 20 000 inhabitants.
It is the ideal place to spend a while far away from the noisy world, doing any marine activity: from worshipping the sun in the white sand of Buzios to scuba diving and snorkelling and to just go around the beaches, either by car or taking the escuna tour. You choose.....

Cons:Mosquitoes... nothing that a good repellent can solve :)

Hi Besbel, I totally agree. I ate there two weeks ago on vacation and it was a very memorable restaurant experience.

Great, helpful comments about Buzios! One thing I don't understand - don't people use bicycles to get around? Rent these to the tourists? Seems like the ideal solution, and everyone is commenting on the expense of getting around.
