Feirarte-Copacabana: For Souvenirs....Go to the Fairs! (II)

There are a number of Feirartes around Rio, but the one I visited the most for its proximity to my place was the one in Atlantica Avenue, Copacabana. Very variated stuff (loved the wooden articles), and vendors are very kind, although less inclined to accept bargainings. It's not as big and variated as Hippie Fair in Ipanema, but it is there everyday from late afternoon, while Hippie Fair can be visited only on Sundays.

What to buy: In Feirarte in Copacabana you could find:
- Gems (I still think the best are in Hippie Fair)
- Wooden sculptures (gorgeous!)
- Beautiful clocks decorated with gems (also gorgeous!)
- Paintings and drawings
- Hammocks
- Stuff for the beach

Directions: Atlantica Avenue, next to Djalma Ulrich street. Everyday at night.

Hippie Fair (Ipanema): For Souvenirs....Go to the Fairs! (I)

The places where I bought my souvernirs were the Hippie Fair in Ipanema and Feirarte in Copacabana. In both of them not only you find local crafts at excellent prices, but also other stuff like clothing, CD's, jewellry, Brazilian gems, leather and wood stuff and even hammocks! All of them had the Rio flavour, so I truly recommend them :)
The one that I liked the most, though, was the Hippy Fair in Ipanema. Not only for the prices but also for the huge variety of things to offer.

What to buy: In Hippie Fair I bought:
- Amatista gems. Since gold in Lima is good and cheap, I bought the gems to make rings and earrings for me and mom.
- A wooden jewellry case
- Maps made on leather
- Key holders

Directions: Praça Osorio, Ipanema, just on Sundays, from 9 am-6pm
