Recently returned (Dec 2011), from a HOLY LAND TOUR, so am working on those tips and photos. On the way home I stopped over in NYC and had a lovely dinner with DONNA-in-India and her family!! At the beginning of the year I had no trips planned but had 3 major ones; back to Lanka, Spain and now Israel and Jordan.
Uploaded videos fr the FERIA inJEREZ de la Frontera, on trip to Spain in May. In Jerez I had the opportunity to experience the gracious, generous hospitality of VTer, 'PuertoLover'/Nigel & wife! He suggested Jerez, as they were also going to be there, so we made plans to meet & it was definitely the highlight of my trip!
Two pages from our trip to Northern California summer 2010 COULTERVILLE and TEHACHAPI where we met VTer "YAQUI".
See my LOS BARRILES page, where I live. other places in BAJA SUR; SAN JOSE' del CABO, LA PAZ (which is the Capital), LORETO and GUERRERO NEGRO up at the northern border of the State. Travelogue of part of the desert area in Baja Norte' BOOJUM & BLOOMS
In Spring 2010 I went for a month to London to visit with one of my best friends (a Sri Lankan) and got caught in the mess of the flight cancellations due to the volcanic ash from Iceland, resulting in my never reaching IRELAND!! I stayed with friends and hardly ate out and since I have done much of the touristy sights in London over several trips long before VT/digital cameras, I don't have much there, but I did make a new VT friend and documented our time together and have a couple DIFFERENT tips on my LONDON page.
The new places I visited were CLOVELLY, PENZANCE and CORNWALL.
Pages about our trip to Europe, 2009, are: BEAUNE, FOS, MEURSAULT, VERSAILLES, VEZELAY w/Video, CARCASSONNE, CAPBRETON, Le PUY en VELAY and BILBAO, BOSSOST, VIELHA,Spain, NEUMAGEN-DHRON, and, TRITTENHEIM, Germany. As well, I added a couple Tips on KANDY, Sri Lanka, and finally filled in pages about our trip to Eastern Europe which was shortly before I joined VT, BUDAPEST, EGER, still adding to DEBRECEN, PRAGUE and KRAKOW.
DELIGHTFULLY SURPRISED BY THE GREAT WEATHER WE HAD OUR ENTIRE WEEK IN PARIS AND ALL THE BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS!
Finally got out of Colombo for a few days, via train, to KANDY with a couple friends to see the PERAHERA (my second time) and the DAY PARADE; my first time. The weather was good; the security VERY tight and all personnel did a great job!
Stayed at the same place I did in 2005, SPICA HOLIDAY HOME;which has a lovely garden setting, warm, hospitable and good food.
In September I made a 10day side trip to Tamil Nadu, India to visit with a girlfriend there. I enjoyed the time, especially the children that she works with, as well as the few days we spent in the Highands (see my new pages/India, including a new video).
Disappointing that I only met with Colombo VT'er Emile once very briefly just shortly before return home, but truly hope to catch up again sometime.
EARLY MARCH, 2008, TWO WEEKS TO OAXACA, PUEBLA and MEXICO CITY AND WE ENJOYED PERFECT WEATHER, HAD LOTS OF GOOD FOODS, TOURED ANCIENT RUINS, MET SOME NICE PEOPLE--BOTH OTHER TRAVELLERS AS WELL AS SOME LOCAL PEOPLE, AND BROWSED LOTS OF MUSEUMS OF COURSE!!
IN JANUARY WE DROVE UP TO OUR NORTHERN BAJA CASA AND SAN DIEGO AREA FOR 3 WEEKS.
THE DRIVE UP AND DOWN THE BAJA PENINSULA IS ALWAYS NEW IN MANY WAYS, SUCH AS BEAUTIFUL SPRING FLOWERS, HERDS OF WILD BURROS, BUT ALSO IT IS VERY TIRING. (It is almost 1000 miles between our 2 casas.)
BUT, WE DID FIND A WONDERFUL NEW 'MOTEL' IN GUERRERRO NEGRO, WHICH IS JUST ABOUT HALF WAY. I WROTE A "TIP" ON IT; LOS CARACOLES.
It was only late January, but there were vast areas of these beautiful blooms in an area that rarely sees rain.
Just a couple years ago, when in HARROD's, LONDON, I "adopted" a stuffed cat and named him QUINTY ALOYSCIOUS. Later in the year, when in New Hope, PA., I bought a small stuffed bear to keep him company; POLLY ANNE.
On MY 2007 trip to Sri Lanka, while visiting a special friend in Anuradhapura, her cousin gave me a gift of a stuffed bear that she had made personally. Seems she makes them all the time; all kinds of animals, large and small and she had quite a collection! You can see a few more on the sofa in the background of the photo.
Since then, I have added a few more stuffed pets so that they all have plenty of company when I am away.
Then on my trip to Chennai and Ooty, India, Sept. 2008, I added KLUNY COONOOR to my little group, from the markets in COONOOR. UPDATE: I had asked for help to name my new Bear, and Sissi, in NZ has taken the time and interest to suggest "KANDY"! Which has been accepted, and now my problem is solved; muchas gracias, KaKapo2!
I added a "WINDSOR" bear, purchased at the Buckingham Palace gift shop on my Spring 2010 trip.
And in Summer 2010 added "TRUCKEE" bear, purchased in there, near Lake Tahoe. ALL of whom are dreaming of meeting the famous "KIMI"; but I try to keep their hopes in check, as we have had no notice of arrival.
our casa is on far right; the greenish/blue building being our bodega/garage, and the white one towards the Sea is our house. there are just 7 casas here, our nearest neighor toward town is 2-1/2 miles away.

Hi Trish and family, hope you all are keeping well :D
Thank you for the sweetest comments on my hp.
I hope to take a photo of Chinese New Year Celebration in each country, BUT I couldn't in so many countries at the same time, so I temporary 'borrow' some photos from others with the sources :D
Mine are both fine, thanks. I'm stressed to the nth degree at the moment, working all weekend because we have an inspection on Mon/Tues. I shall (hopefully) be myself again by Weds. :-)
Trish, you are blessed with two lovely granddaughters. Bella!
