Amsterdam is a beautifull city, with a caracteristic centre. It's a good place for walking and making pictures.
The best part of living here, is that I can have my privacy and rest in my own house, but if I want to see people, I just have to step out my door. And within 15 min. I walk to a market, or within 10 min. by public transportation, I am in the shoppingstreets.
What I also like, is that the shops in the centre, the Nieuwedijk and the Kalverstraat, are also open at sunday's.

In Amsterdam you have the choice, because there are a lot of markets. It depends on my mood, on what I need and where I am at that moment, to which market I go. The Albert Cuyp is a real Amsterdam market, but also a little touristic. The Dappermarkt is still a market for the neighberhood, although people who are moved, still come. The amount of Turkish people, and also from India and other country's (but they are now become Dutch), makes it more interesting. When I need cheap clothes, I go to the Dappermarkt.

And when I need shoes, or normal priced clothes, I go to the Nieuwedijk and Kalverstraat. Sunday is the best day for that, it is more quiet than saterday. And the shops are longer open, till 18.00 o'clock.

Almost everything is in walkingdistance, or fast reacheble by tram or metro.
