These signs mark the Red Wine Hiking Trail

HIKING: Rotweinwanderweg

The Rotweinwanderweg (Red Wine Hiking Trail) leads from Bad Bodendorf to Altenahr. The trail is situated in about the middle of the slopes, thus high above the valley. The views are splendid.

The total length of the trail is 35 kms. There is no need, though, to do it all at once. You can enter and exit the trail near every village and train station.

Equipment: Comfy walking shoes. The Eastern part of the trail is well paved. Approaching Altenahr it may become rougher, soles with a good grip are useful.
