Another one of the towns in South Carolina on our way from Atlanta to Charleston via the back roads. Just stopped here long enough to take a couple of photos and read a little bit about the history of the town from the posted signs.

As you'll see if you glance at the photos on the tip for Blackville this town was hit by not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 major fires during the 1800's each time building up from the ashes. Thus the nickname - The Town of the Phoenix.
