Another Tourist Who Decided to Stay??

Although this was our last stop after almost 2 weeks in Europe we were anxious to explore as much of this town as we could during our 1 day stop here before our flight back home the next morning.

After arriving in Lucerne on the Golden Pass Train from Interlaken just before noon we dropped off our bags at the hotel and began our exploration of this easily walkable and scenic town.

About mid day we were crossing yet another bridge over the Reuss River and saw this pair of shoes at rivers edge. Where did the owner of these shoes go? Did he/she jump into the river for a swim? Did someone place these here as a joke? Did someone place these here for a photo opportunity and walk off without them? Just several of the thoughts that went through my head before I decided I would make this my own photo op to go along with my "tired foot" theme of walking through European cities.

Cons:Would Have Liked to Spend One More Day Here

Would you believe, I am booked into the same hotel in Lucerne this year as you stayed in? If only the feet club had been going back then? Maybe I'll do one anyway or maybe we could broaden the rules to allow pics from all over Switzerland?

Wonderful page full of great info and photos! The sculptures brought a smile! Of interest was the information on the Towers, and the lightning strike, sounds like they learnt their lesson though!

Very nice pics of a BEAUTIFUL town, it's my favorite Swiss town and I hope to go back someday. I didn't know the wooden bridge had been rebuilt..!?!! AWESOME! I loved it when I went there and was so sorry that it burnt down! :)
