Sapa, You'd Better Hurry

The countryside feel of Sapa is fast fading and tourist development is fast tracking. Notice the markings on the rock to the left on this photo. The otherwise chatty and low pressure vendors would not venture past this rock and kept a quiet vigil until we returned. We assume that the reason was territorial but would appreciate an informed opinion.

Historic Hoi An

The old centre of Hoi An excludes motorised vehicles and is a joy to wander. It's a great place to buy exotic fabrics of the highest quality. The nearby beach is also well worth the visit. Spend a couple of days here.

The Peace of Ninh Binh

The small boats that carry tourists and vendors through the stunningly beautiful landscapes of Ninh Binh are rowed by foot and no motorised vehicles disturb the tranquility of the cloistered ricefields. A place to go for a gentle day. Check out the photos of Q T Luong on the web for more beauty.
