Viennese History

Vienna offers the traveler many historical sights. I found St. Stephen's Cathedral fascinating. The interior is beautiful but the most enjoyable is the crypts. As many as 4,000 bodies are interred here dating back to the 1700's. A few of the wooden coffins are without their lids thus enabling one to view the occupant in their burial cloths. I found this amazing.
Another great sight is the Shonbrunn Palace. It is an opulent display of how the ruling class lived. The grounds are beautiful.

The Viennese "Kaffehaus"

Vienna has a history of coffee houses, many visited by famous individuals. It is nice to take a break from sight seeing by enjoying a coffee and pastry at one of these establishments even if the famous ones are a bit touristy.
